With Valentines Day right around the corner, I thought I would share some of the movies I like to watch leading up to my favorite day of the year.
1| I Hate Valentines Day – I recently watched this film again, and really enjoyed it. The story is about a florist, Genevieve (Nia Vardalos,) who absolutely loves Valentines Day and will only date a guy for five dates. However, she starts to question her rule when she meets Greg (John Corbett) who is opening a tapas restaurant across the street.
2| The Notebook – So this isn’t strictly a Valentines Day movie, but it is a really amazing love story, where suprisingly both characters nearly make it through the movie alive. (That is rarely the case with Nicholas Sparks.)
3| He’s Just Not That Into You – This is one of those movies with interconnecting story arcs that actually makes sense. My favorite two characters in the film would have to be those played by Ginnfer Goodwin (as Gigi) and Justin Long (as Alex.)
4| Love, Actually – Although I usually watch this one around Christmas (since the movie is set during the holidays) There’s still plenty of romance between the various couples made up of some of the UK’s most loved actors.
5| You’ve Got Mail – There had to be a Nora Ephron film on here, and this would have to my favorite hands down. It reunited stars Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
I’m hoping to add another to the list… Stay tuned for my upcoming review of Love, Rosie.
