Last Saturday we had a Spa day… we hadn’t been since our trip to Biltmore, so we needed an ‘in between’ place to go. Enter Baxter Village, just up the road from where we live. It’s grown quite a bit over the past few years, and they are adding in new shops and restaurants.
So, after a quick stop at Starbucks, we walked into our spa location for the day, Baxter Nails & Spa. They do everything from nail enhancement services, manicures, pedicures, etc.
Then back to the spa area… Both my mum and I went with the Deluxe Pedicure, which is a good value at $40.
This package includes:
- Exfoliating sea salt scrub
- Leg mask with hot towels
- Full 10 minutes of hot stone massage
- Nail trimming & polishing
This was the first time I’d ever had a hot stone massage of any sort, and I was not prepared for the stones being so hot. However, once I got used to it, the whole experience was enjoyable, and I’ll definitely visit again in future.
After our spa experience, it was time to find some food… so we set off on foot through Baxter.
After lunch it was time to walk back to the car and head home, but not without snapping a few pictures along the way…
There are several places I’m going to stop when I do my ‘self guided’ foodie tour of Baxter which I’ll post about on my foodie blog for that one… but here’s one little hint…
There… will… be… chocolate!
