You don’t have to let that one thing be the thing that defines you. – After You by Jojo Moyes
I’m not ashamed to admit that I did quite finish the first novel, Me Before You. I got up to the point where I knew exactly how it was going to end, and skipped ahead. There’s just something about tragic endings where it the story reaches and inevitable conclusion that bug me sometimes.
However, when I stumbled upon this sequel and read the first few pages, I just had to know how things were going for Lou Clark (spoiler) after she lost the love of her life.
Here’s a snippet of the summary via Goodreads.
Louisa Clark is no longer just an ordinary girl living an ordinary life. After the transformative six months spent with Will Traynor, she is struggling without him. When an extraordinary accident forces Lou to return home to her family, she can’t help but feel she’s right back where she started.
