I’m going to divide this review up into three categories. Dramas/Movies I’ve watched, Dramas I’m currently watching, and Drama’s that will be premiering soon.
Dramas/Movies (I’ve watched)
Emergency Couple – I can’t believe I started this drama a year ago and didn’t finish this first episode. I now know exactly what I was missing. (Perhaps it was seeing Choi Jin-Hyuk in Fated to Love You that changed my mind?) This is an excellent medical drama about a divorced couple who end up in the ER as interns. Will they reconnect after so many years apart? Watch it and find out!
It’s Okay, This is Love – So I’ve seen Kong Hyo-Jin in a few dramas before (The Master’s Sun and The Greatest Love) but this was definitely a different role for her. She plays a psychiatrist with a few issues of her own. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a mystery writer/radio DJ moves into the share house. I have to say there was a twist I was not expecting in this drama, but I’m definitely pleased with the way it ended.
Steal My Heart (Catch Me) – I love this movie! It stars Joo Won who I’ve seen previously in the drama Good Doctor. (If you haven’t seen this drama you absolutely have to. Joo Won and Moon Chae-Won are amazing!) Joo Won plays a criminal profiler and while he’s working on a serial murder case he unexpectedly runs into an old flame who happens to be a cat burglar.
Moving onto currently watching…
Tomorrows Cantabile – This rom-com is definitely fun. Starring Joo Won a piano student at a music conservatory whose life’s dream is to conduct and Nae-Il his zany next door neighbor who marches to the beat of her own drum. I’m only 4 episodes in, but I’m really enjoying this light-hearted drama.
Blade Man – the main character in this drama’s inner turmoil often has outward consequences. When he meets a special young woman, his future takes an upward turn. This drama is definitely has a fairy tale element similar to Beauty and the Beast. A box of tissues is a must for some of the more emotion episodes.
Greatest Marriage – To say I find this drama frustrating is an understatement. At least two of characters are getting on my nerves at any one moment and the treatment of the first (Bae Soo Bin) and second (No Min-Woo) male leads to the main female lead (Park Si Yeon) is enough to watch you to stop watching the drama. The only reason I’m still watching it at this point is my hope that some of the characters will start improving as human beings in general.
Dramas Premiering Soon…
Pinocchio – This drama follows two young reporters as they search for the truth. As soon as I knew Lee Jong Suk had accepted the male lead in this drama I knew I had to watch it. I’ve seen him before in Doctor Stranger and I Can Hear You Voice as well as the movie Hot Young Bloods. He’s an amazing actor and I can’t wait to see how he brings this latest role to life.
Pride and Prejudice – Don’t let the title fool you. There will be no Mr. Darcy in this Kdrama. There will however, be Choi Jin-Hyuk which isn’t a bad trade off. I can’t wait to see how he pulls off his latest role as a prosecutor.
