Destination Style | Pier1

On Saturday we headed over to our local Pier1 for their Destination Style event. We’d attended their Spring event and had enjoyed it so much that we knew we wanted to check out this one as well.

The layout of the event this time around was a little different, but I have to say I quite preferred it. After checking in each attendee was given a passport and then it was up to you which of the three demos you wanted to start with first.

Since tablescapes are something that we enjoy, we decided to go over for the Autumn Table demo first.

For the tablescape we used, Bennett Lanterns with LED Candles in them that can be set to flicker like real candles. If you decide to use real candles in your display, remember to use unscented otherwise it could interfere with the food you are serving for your dinner party or luncheon.

We did three layers for our place settings.

Our theme was Whimsical Woodland and I absolutely loved all the use of fall decor around the tablescape especially these fox plates. Aren’t they just the cutest?

The second demo on our list was Bookcase Stylings, where we were working with a Travel Theme. We used an Effiel Tower and grouped the items in triangles for the best look.

For the third demo of the day, it was all about creating Glimmer Strings Terrariums for a fun fall display. It’s important to remember to keep your terrarium containers see through so you’ll be able to display your candles wrapped in glimmer strings for a whimsical look.

Last of all was the Napkin folding demo. We have a little background in napkin folding, but I was interested in learning some new techniques.

During each event there’s a drawing to win one of the $10 dollar gift cards, and this time luck was definitely with us!

We’d already picked out a few items it between demos, so I decided to put my gift card towards some new fall decor.

You can add some more fall color by filling these acorns with some of the vase fillers they have in store.
