Faux Druzy Necklace | Darby Smart

Over the holidays, I introduced my sister to a Darby Smart DIY project. I had some supplies left over from a previous project, so there was plenty to go around when it came time to make these Faux Druzy Necklace.

Step 1 | Choose your colors.

So hard to choose...
So hard to choose…

I went with the purple for the first necklace and blue for the second. My sister opted to green and then a combination of gold and purple for her second.

Step 2 | Add Mod Podge.

Paint on mod podge...

Add enough to surface of the medallion so that it’s covered, but don’t overdo it…

Step 3| Add your glitter. Make sure to cover all the Mod Podge then shake loose any excess.

It's a good start... just a little more...

Step 4| Add another layer of Mod Podge.

Get it good and covered.

Step 5| Time for more glitter.

Once it’s good a ‘glittery’ shake of excess and then set aside to dry.

Step 6| Cut chain to the length of your choice.

Step 7 | Attach jump ring to medallion and thread chain through. Attach jump ring to one side of the chain and another jump ring and lobster clasp to the other end to complete the necklace.

Step 8 | Complete earrings using Steps 1-3.

Purple set all done.

Blue too...
