From You to Me: South Korea

My grandfather visited Seoul, South Korea back in the 1970’s. I’ve long had an interest in the city. I had characters in one of my novels stop over there.  I’m also an avid watcher of Korean Dramas and through watching them I’ve started to pick up some of this beautiful language.

When I asked him what was the most unusual dish he had while in Korea, he said he had Cow Knee Soup. While I don’t  know if I could try that one. I think I’d quite like Hoeddeok (Sweet Syrupy Pancakes) and Bibimbap (Mixed Rice, although I don’t think I’d be able to handle to Hot Pepper Paste that’s typically served with it.)

I hope to go to Seoul for myself someday, but for now I’ve picked up these two books. One to learn a bit about Seoul, and the other to help aid me with learning more of the language.
