Hacksaw Ridge | In Theaters

Ever since I first saw the trailer for Hacksaw Ridge, the WWII picture directed by Mel Gibson, I knew that I wanted to see it. It tells the true story of an extraordinary man, Desmond T. Doss.

Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) is drafted, but refuses to bear arms on religious grounds. Although he’s excluded by his fellow soldiers to his pacifist beliefs, he soon earns not only their respect for his bravery as he risks his life (without firing a single shot) and saves 75 men at the Battle of Okinawa.
