Hail, Caesar! | Movie Review

Would that it ‘twer so simple… – Hail Caesar!

If you’re looking for a movie that shows you a glimpse of what life on the set might have been like in Old Hollywood, well this is it. If you’re looking for something comedy, this isn’t what you’re looking for. (Although from the trailer it looked like it was going to be hilarious!)

Eddie Manix (Josh Brolin) studio head/fixer has to try and find George Clooney a top billed actor who is kidnapped by Communists.

The two characters that I actually liked in the film were Scarlett Johansson who had a spot on accent for her role as DeAnna Moran, an actress who finds herself pregnant and isn’t exactly sure who the father is exactly…

…and Alden Ehrenreich who plays Hobie Doyle who up until recently has only played in Western films as a fast riding, singing cowboy and switches gears to star in Laurence Laurentz (Ralph Fiennes) latest period piece.

While I wouldn’t warn against watching this film, its definitely one of those films that you’ll only want to watch once and is currently available to rent via iTunes.
