In Charlotte’s Southend, nestled amongst some delicious eateries is the Hidell Brooks Gallery. Mum and I had stopped in a few weeks back when they’d just gotten in some of Selena Beaudry’s pieces, and were in the process of deciding the placement.
Impressed by the artist’s work, we decided to check back in when everything was up on the walls for display. Before I share some my photos I took throughout this refreshingly airy gallery, I want to tell you a bit about how the works of art were created.
After painting quite a few watercolors, Selena Beaudry was unhappy with how they turned out, so decided to tear them up. From those pieces of torn paper, she created new works of art. I absolutely love the depth of these pieces! The collection of works is aptly named, Just Paper and will be on display through April 30th.
Also on display were works by artist, Page Davis. The painting below was my favorite. It’s titled, Somewhere Else.
I can never resist taking pictures of where the galleries store their paintings that aren’t currently on display.
