June Aiken Trip – Day 3

June 9th, 2014

We got up earlier than usual on the last day of our visit. Mum had a 9:30a appointment at the spa to have her nail color changed. (Buy Me a Cameo by Essie is her signature color.) So, we needed to head down to breakfast first.

I was very glad to see the muffins were blueberry, as they have to be my favorite… and they go perfectly with fresh Orange Juice. Mum went for the freshly made Greek Yogurt which had a strawberry rhubarb mixture on the bottom. (It’s a new flavor each day.)

After breakfast we headed back up to the room where I set to packing, and mum headed back down to the spa.

Once everything was packed it was time to get them all on the luggage cart and head downstairs for checkout. (Given the circumstances I mentioned in my previous post I was glad to be going home where I could sleep in my own bed and try to recoup.)

We made two stops on our way home. The first was in Lexington, South Carolina where we stopped in @ the Chicken Salad Chick. (Note there is going to be a location in Pineville, North Carolina that will open sometime this year… hopefully.)

After lunch we headed into Columbia and over to The Crescent Olive on Devine St. We’d heard a great deal about their Rosemary Olive Oil and we needed to pick up some Gremolata as well.

So, with our olive oils in tow, it was time to take the last leg of the journey home.
