There are have been several amazing Kdramas that I’ve watched over the past few months as I count down the time for the premiered of The Descendants of the Sun (Song Joong Ki) and Goodbye, Mr. Black (Lee Jin Wook) and (Moon Chae Won.) The latter is the first television drama Moon Chae Won been in since Good Doctor and The Innocent Man.
Items 1-2 are dramas I’ve already finished, while 3-6 are currently on-air.
1| Secret Message – I recently finished this 18 Episode Short Series (each episode runs 10 minutes.) I really enjoyed this one. It has both your emotions going with both heartfelt and comedic turns. Choi Seung Hyun (better known as T.O.P.) is making a documentary about love even though no longer believes in it, and Ueno Yuri is a Japanese woman who lost the love of her life. Through texting one another they begin to believe in true love again.
2| Oh My Ghostness – If I had know I was going to enjoy this one so much, I would have watched it when it first aired over the summer. This story revolves around a Chef Kang Sun Woo (Jo Jung Suk) who owns a busy restaurant in Seoul, Na Bong Sun who works in his kitchen and ghost Shin Soon Ae (Kim Seul Gi) who has a grudge to resolve. There is a fair amount of unexpected mystery in this drama as well as romance and comedy. I definitely recommend this one.
3| Oh My Venus – This drama is halfway through it’s run and I love it more with every episode. It stars So Ji Sub as personal trainer John Kim and Shin Min Ah a workaholic lawyer who may have been a looker back in her high school days, but stress and bad eating habits have changed her figure. The chemistry between the two main leads is amazing and I’m really enjoying the storyline so far.
4| Remember – So this is one of the first drama Yoo Seung Ho (I Miss You, Warrior Baek Dong Soo) has starred in since he completed his military service. (The other one is short series Imaginary Cat currently up on the Viki app.) Seung Ho stars as a lawyer who is determined to prove his father’s innocence after he’s charged with a murder he did not commit. His father suffers from Alzhemiers and Seung Ho’s character who has always had a photogenic memory is also beginning to show signs of the disease. This drama also stars Park Min Young (Healer, City Hunter, Sungkkyunkwan Scandal.)
5| Imaginary Cat – I decided to add this one to my list, because I needed a little ‘light’ with all the serious drama’s I’m watching at the moment. As I mentioned, this mini-drama stars Yoo Seung Ho as a wanna be webtoonist who takes in a stray cat Bok Gil.
6| Sweet Savage Family – This is a drama I’m not quite sure about yet. I’m giving it a 3 episode try to see how I like it. If you’ve seen any of the Married to the Mafia franchise (I have not) this drama is loosely based on it and centers around a gangster family who decides to go into the movie business.
Stand tuned for my next Kdrama about the dramas you should be watching!
