This Saturday I headed into uptown Charlotte. We had purchased our tickets to ‘Wizard of Oz’ with the Charlotte Symphony a few weeks ago and I have been counting down the days.
Our first stop was the Halcyon Resturant that is located in the Uptown Mint Museum. From the moment I walked through the front door I was impressed.
They make everything in house from their ketchup and mayo to their deletable breads, to using local meats, cheeses and produce.
We decided to start our meal off with an appetizer and we were so glad we did! The cornbread was sweet, fresh and right out of the oven good.
While we waited for our food (I had to make a few substitutions on mine… We enjoyed the view from the nearby window… and contemplated eating outside in the spring.
Our culinary needs met, we headed down to the museum shop for a look around before heading out into the cold. It was absolutely freezing in uptown Charlotte yesterday.
An hour into the movie it was time to take a brief intermission, have some snacks (we preordered so no waiting in line for us) and stretch our legs a bit.
It was an amazing performance, a delicious meal and a perfect (even with the cold weather) day.
