While I was sitting at the spa on Saturday as my mum was having her nail color changed… the topic turned to what movies really suit the upcoming Valentines Day holiday. So, I thought why not share a list of movies that I like to watch around this time of year.
1| You Got Mail – I’ve loved this one since high school, because who doesn’t love the pairing of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan?
2| The Notebook – So there’s a far bit of angst, and tragedy in this one, but that’s what you’ve come to expect from a Nicholas Sparks Movie. Those two things aside, this still remains as my favorite of all the Nicholas Sparks movies that have come out so far.
3| French Kiss – So this is another Meg Ryan movie… but I really enjoyed the most about this movie was the interactions between Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline’s characters. I love him playing a French jewelry thief.
4| Love Actually – While this one is more of a Christmas movie given that it’s set during that holiday, when it comes down to it, it’s just a movie about love… actually.
5| Notting Hill – “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” This one line said by Julia Robert’s character Anna Scott to Hugh Grant is just perfect. She just lays her heart out there in front of him.
6| P.S. I Love You – Hillary Swank is having a hard time starting over after losing the love of her life. To help ease the pain of her loss, her husband leaves her 10 messages to help her…
7| Love Rosie – this is also a movie based off of a book by Irish author Cecilia Ahern, and stars Lily Collins and Sam Clafin whose characters have been best friends since childhood. Sam’s character Alex, has always been in love with Rosie (Lily Collins) and you spend most of the film wondering if they will both figure things out and finally get together.
What are some of your favorite Valentines Day Movies?
