My latest favorites | Kdrama Review

If you’ve read my posts on Kdrama’s before, you’ll know that I start with drama’s I’ve finished, current watching, and upcoming dramas.

Sungkyunkwan_Scandal
Sungkyunkwan_Scandal

1| Sungkyunkwan Scandal – this movie stars Yoo Ah-In (who also starred in the first Kdrama I ever watched back in 2012.) Along with three other actors I adore. Song Joong-Ki (whose character is the polar opposite of his role in Innocent Man) Park Yoo-Chun (of JYJ) and Park Min-Young (City Hunter, Healer.)

I had a serious case of what is known as ‘second-lead syndrome’ with this one… but who wouldn’t…

Yoo Ah-In
Yoo Ah-In

This drama came out back 2010, but now that I’m venturing more into the world of period dramas (if I really enjoy the actors playing in them) I decided to go back to some past dramas.

Rooftop Prince

2| Rooftop Prince – This drama is a ‘time travel’ drama that came out in 2012. It stars Park Yoo-chun as a Prince, who after his queen is found murdered, goes to the present day to figure out what happened. Sounds odd to go to the future to find out how your wife died in the past, yes? Well, it will all make sense in the end. Absolutely loved this drama, there is mystery, drama, and romance.

Arang and the Magistrate
Arang and the Magistrate

3| Arang and the Magistrate – This drama stars Lee Joon-Gi (Two Weeks) and Shin Min-A. Joon-Gi’s character is searching for his mother who has disappeared, and Shin Min-A is a ghost who is trying to find out the person responsible for her untimely death.

The Time We Were Not In Love
The Time We Were Not In Love

4| The Time We Were Not In Love – This drama is about  Oh Ha-Na and Choi Won who have been best friends since high school with each other for over 17 years. Choi Won has been in love with Oh Ha-Na for the entire time, while Oh Ha-Na has been absolutely clueless about his feelings.

Currently Watching:

Scholar Who Walks The Night
Scholar Who Walks The Night

5| Scholar Who Walks The Night – A daughter is forced to dress up as a boy in order to help bring in money for her family. One day her life changes forever when she meets the Scholar who is looking for a book that will change the world as they know it. This drama stars Lee Joon-Gi (Two Weeks, Arang and the Magistrate) and Lee Yoo-Bi (Pinocchio.)

Recommended: I’ve seen all Lee Yoo-Bi’s dramas except one. She is an amazing actress. I definitely recommend The Innocent Man, Pinocchio and Gu Family Book if you enjoy her acting skills.

Yong Pal

6| Yong Pal – This drama stars Joo Won, a young doctor who will do anything to earn the money needed for his young sister’s medical treatments. When he meets Han Yeo-Jin (Han Tae-Hee) a young woman who has been kept in a coma for 3 years, his life changes forever.

Upcoming Dramas:

Descendants of the Sun
Descendants of the Sun

7| Descendants of the Sun – there isn’t a set release date for this one. It’s just coming late 2015, but I can hardly wait. I’ve been waiting for a Song Joong-Ki drama since he completed his military service back in May. Song Joon-Ki plays a Capital station along with a doctor played by Song Hye-Kyo.

She Was Pretty

8| She Was Pretty – I’m looking forward this drama, which from the poster looks like it’s going to be a comedy. I’ve seen both the main actors where they played brother and sister in Heal Me, Kill Me. However in this drama, they are each others first love. (They weren’t actually blood related in their last drama, but it’s still going to be a little odd at first.)

Six Flying Dragons
Six Flying Dragons

9| Six Flying Dragons – this period drama reunited Yoo Ah-In and Shin Se-Kyung (The Girl Who Sees Smells, Blade Man)  who last starred together in the drama Fashion King back in 2012. The story centers around Yoo Ah-In’s character (Lee Bang-Won) who is the son of King Taejo known for establishing the Joseon Dynasty. I’m hoping for some martial arts/action in this one.
