Norah Jones | Day Breaks

I’ll admit that I haven’t listened to most of the albums between this new release and Norah Jones’ debut album (Come Away with Me) but it’s been hailed by the many as Jones return to her roots. With this in mind, I jumped at the chance to pre-order the album before it’s October 7th release.

While the first song didn’t catch me, there’s definitely more songs I do like than those I don’t. (I listened to the album for the first time during the first of several rainy days due to the Hurricane that was working it’s way up the Carolina coast.)

Here’s my list of favorites:

  • Flipside (I just love the upbeat way the music starts at the beginning of this one.)
  • And Then There Was You (this is a nice slow song, soft and relaxing.)
  • Once I Had a Laugh
  • Sleeping Wild
  • Carry On

This is the perfect ‘chill out’ album to listen to when you are home curled up on the couch, or in front of the fireplace. I’m definitely enjoying this one!
