We were so excited about our trip to Raleigh this year. This marks the second time I’ve stayed at The Fearrington House Inn (in nearby Pittsboro) and the third time for mum.
For the entire trip up we had lots and lots of rain, but by the time we reached the Fearrington (a member of the Relias & Chateaux group) later in the afternoon, the rain had stopped and the sun was finally peaking out.
Since it was almost time for tea, we went ahead a checked in, and had our bags taken up to the room.
We went with a smaller room this time instead of the suite, and I really enjoyed the room. (Even the flight of stairs to get to it weren’t so bad.)
Now time to head over for tea…
While we were waiting (we forgot to inform them that I was the dairy free guest they were expecting!) we chatted with the English couple sitting one table over. After spending quite a bit of time touring the various battlefields of the Civil War, they had stopped over at the Fearrington for a few nights before heading back to New York to fly home to England.
There was quite a few weddings at the Fearrington during the time were there.
We headed over to the shops next.
While we had originally planned to go over to the North Carolina Museum of Art to see the French film ‘Amelie,’ we were much to exhausted to make the trip… So we picked up this delicious sandwich from The Goat (next to Dovecote) and headed back up to room to watch ‘The Kings Speech.’ (In honor of the celebration of the upcoming birth of Princess Charlotte.)
Stay tuned, posts on the rest of the trip coming soon!
