Spa Day | The Omni Homestead Resort

It’s been awhile since we’d had a spa day, and on most of our travels we try to have a least one to get nice and relaxed and enjoy what the hotel has to offer.

After going out onto our balcony to check the weather which was decidedly chilly. We opted to order breakfast up to the room.

Eggs, Bacon and Toast for Ashley Jane, Blueberry Pancakes and Virginia Ham for me and Yogurt with Granola and Fruit for mum.

You can either take the stairs from our floor all the way to the bottom to access the breezeway to the spa... or take the elevator. I wanted to get my cardio on, so I took the stair option throughout the trip.

When crossing the breeze way that leads to the spa building you literally feel like you’ve traveled through time, from the 1900’s part of the hotel to the new.

We had a look around the spa shop before beginning our tour of the ladies locker rooms and amenities.

If you’re going to do the whole spa experience right, you’re going to want to purchase a day pass to the Serenity Garden. There’s drinks all day and lunch included… The only thing we wished is that it had been just a teensy bit warmer. It was freezing and with the gusts of wind that came through it would go straight through your robe and beach towel. (Still I wouldn’t have given up spending time outside instead of being coped up inside for anything!)

The coolest of the pools was in front of us... and was mostly used by those who had spent too much time 'cooking' in the hot tub.

I spent a little time in the hot springs which were like a nice warm bath... before retreating back to our chairs... Note: Once you pick a chair it's yours for the whole day.

If you want to give your feet some reflexology treatment before any of your other spa experiences... try walking over the path way of stones. It's fed by water from the Hot Spring so you'll keep your feet nice and warm as you walk through.

We went with the basic services and my technician for the day had the same name. Except she spells her Krista instead of Christa. It's not often I meet someone with the same name...

The fragrant almond oil that they use in this treatment smells absolutely delicious…

We headed back outdoors to look over the menu for our late lunch (perhaps they should come up with name for a meal that's eaten in between lunch and dinner time?

This Chicken and Cashew lettuce wrap was absolutely delicious... but you had to be super talented to put each wrap together in the windy weather...

After our lunch I went over by the fire to try and get warm... while Jane headed back over to the Hot Springs with her book to get some reading done.

After getting check out, we went through the corridor to the indoor pool… which is not heated and decidedly chilly. (My sister found this out on the previous day.)

After a full day of rejuvenation it was time to head up to the room and over to Martha’s Market to pick up sandwiches for dinner… because after all that relaxing… a walk to anywhere else would be just to much.
