I don’t know about you, but during the Fall and Winter months jeans are a common wardrobe option throughout the week. Since we have a relaxed dress code at work, it gives me the option to dress up or dress down depending on the weather and what I feel like wearing that day. So, I thought why not come up with some essentials you’ll need for styling your jeans for Fall.
My picks come from a variety of retailers and also from a variety of price points, so I’m sure you’ll find just the perfect pieces to add to your collection.
I recently added an Utility Jacket to my Fall wardrobe for Fall in Olive, and American Eagle offers a Waxed Cotton Utility Jacket which will be both durable and keep you warmer when the temperatures are a bit nippy in the mornings. (We experienced our first truly cool day this past Sunday and it was absolutely gorgeous.)
I would suggest going with a color that will blend the most with the sweaters and tops you like to layer underneath, or add a nice accent to your outfit. My Fall Wardrobe tends to have jewel tones mixed with brown, black and grey options and I have boots and/or booties that will go with each look.
I really love the belted look and J Crew offers a Belted Sweater Blazer that you can layer over your favorite tops to keep you nice a toasty. I used to own the most amazing grey belted sweater from Loft which is sadly no longer around, but I like the look of the Belted Sweater Blazer and you can pair it with booties and a statement necklace if you wanted to dress it up for work.
Boden also has the feminine Fiona Cardigan at a higher price point for another belted option and you can get it in this lovely rose option (still loving the pink can be a part of Fall/Winter not just Spring/Summer) or you can pick it up in Navy or Grey. (All very versatile colors!)
Having a duster either a neutral or in the popular floral or velvet options are always a good idea for styling your jeans.
Having a variety of sweaters and tops in your collection for the Fall and Winter Seasons really is a must. It will give you multiple looks for your jeans whether you’re looking to dress them up or down. (It’s one of the things I love so much about jeans… their versatility.) Plus sweaters are just oh, so cozy.
Two of the reasons to love the Convertible Necklace Cozy Fleece Tunic from Gibson are, not only is it a good price point, but it also comes in a variety of color options!
I suggested this V Neck Sweater from J Crew in a previous post and just had to include it in this post. Plus if I really like a sweater I will usually get it in two or three of the color options available to give myself a little color variety while still going with the same look.
All of the jeans that I currently own are from American Eagle. They are a good price point, but more importantly they fit me the best out of all the brands that I’ve tried so far. No more ill fitting jeans for me. At a higher price point the jeans below are from Citizens of Humanity with the currently trendy high rise look.
Several of the bags that I went with for this post are in shades of cognac which has always been the color I tend to love the most when I’m going with brown for my outfit. You’ll see that I carry this color choice over to my selection in boots and booties.
I selected three categories for shoes… First we these Peep Toe open back booties from Sole Society that work for days that are warmer, but you’re still wanting to go with the look of a bootie.
Next we have the Flynn Bootie also from Sole Society which is perfect for when the days are a bit cooler…
Then we have these knee boots from Gianvito Rossie for the days when you need quite a bit more warmth…
Last of all we have an option for the over the knee look…
