As the weather gets warmer and the days grow gradually longer, it’s time to switch out your fall/winter clothing and bring out the spring/summer wardrobe. During the coldest days of winter I look forward to the day when I can bring out the sundresses, maxi’s and cardi’s that make up the majority of my summer wardrobe. The winter purses go to the back of the closet while the summer totes and bags come to the front.
My jewelry tree is filled with earrings in pastels and jewel tones, silver and gold necklaces, and fun bracelets that have been sitting in my dresser all winter long. My clothing style tends to range from dressy to boho-chic depending on my mood, so the majority of my spring/summer clothing come from Modcloth, Ruche and a few pieces here and there from Anthropologie.
My summer looks can be pretty basic, sundress, cardi and sandals or heels depending on the situation. It’s essential to have a few standard Maxi Dresses on hand. They can be print or plain depending on the your mood or the occasion.
I have the second dress in my closet right now, and it’s one of my favorite go to pieces. Since it’s a solid color you can dress it up with jewelry and a nice pair of sandals/flip-flops, and a cardi pull the whole look off. (I’m cold natured so a cardi is a must!)
For shorter lengths I’ve been adding a lot of peach or mint sundresses for summer. It’s also good to have some neutral items for a more dressy look.
Here’s a nice dressy option from Modcloth that’s perfect for summer. I paired it with flats, but pumps or strappy sandals would work as well.
I love to go to Saturday Farmers Market’s and do some work out in my deck herb garden (foodie here!) so you should also have some less dressy items on hand. You can dress it up with jewelry for the fun farmers market, or dress it down for just hanging around the house with a simple tank.
Here’s a look from Anthropologie.
Now that we’ve seen a few looks, it’s time for jewelry. I love jewelry. I make it, and I buy a fair amount as well. Up until now I’ve gone more towards sterling silver, but thanks to some recent purchases of bags with gold hardware, I’ve been adding a bit of gold to my look. Here’s a few of the most recent pieces from Anthropolgie and Modcloth that I’ve had my eye on.
It’s also nice to add a bit of color to brighten up an outfit, and I think this necklace fits the bill.
Last but not least, we have three clothing essentials to my closet in particular, hats, scarves and bags. Here are three options to give yourself a more relaxed boho-chic look from Anthropologie.
