So, as I’m stated several times in the past, I have a foodie blog (thelifeandtimesofafoodie) which tends to get more love than theavidpen does sometimes…
For this reason, I’ve decided to do some foodie cross over posts… and for my first ‘the avid pen meet foodie’ post I’ll tell you about a brunch I went to a few months ago at the Ballantyne Resort. (Note: I will be going to afternoon tea at the same resort this Sunday. )
As I’m sure those of you who follow my foodie blog know… I usually give everyone’s Egg’s Benedict a try. So far the best Egg’s Benedict I’ve ever had is from the Mimosa Grill in Uptown Charlotte. They have a truly fabulous brunch, and I can hardly wait to go there when it gets closer to Christmas. (It’s a new tradition that my mum and I started, just the two of us.)
After our meal, we decided to take a look around the hotel, which included both architecture and art.
Note: If you live in the Charlotte area, you should stop by the Ballantyne Resort to look at the art they have on display and enjoy either a little breakfast/lunch at The Gallery or take some afternoon tea in the lobby seating area. I really cannot say enough about their afternoon tea, except in my case I’ve learned that decaf tea is a must.
On the way to the spa, you can catch a view of the pool…
And I’ll end this with the fountain out front…
