The perfect pumpkin… Pt1

So in planning for the yearly fall luncheon (party) my mom throws for her friends each year… we decided to do something extra special when it came to decorations… We were going to make our very own velvet pumpkins to go with the Tuscan theme were doing this year…

Now these pumpkins aren’t merely fabric… they need stems… real stems… from real pumpkins… and not just ordinary ones… we need ciurl, curvey ones for the most whimsical look…

Pumpkins… pumpkins everywhere…

We began at the pumpkin patch that opens every year on Pineville Matthews Rd just in front of Fresh Market… and we found two of the most amazing pumpkins (no I don’t have any picks of them… but when I post the pics of the finished pumpkins you’ll get to see ’em.)

Big ones…

They had pumpkins both large and small… Sizes 1 through 12 if I remember correctly…

More pumpkins…
Little ones… for 50 cents to 1 dollar ea.
We even had help on our brave crusade for fallen pumpkin stems in need of a good home…

Tune in for Part 2… where you get to see the creation of our velvet pumpkins from start to finish…
