I’ve been looking forward to wearing this Zebra print dress from Crescent for months. I don’t often wear bold prints, but I loved the design of the Savannah Zebra Mini Dress and it’s such a fun dress for a leisurely stroll in one of your favorite neighborhoods, to grab dinner out on the weekends, it’s also the perfect resort wear piece if you’ve been fully vaccinated and feel safe to start traveling again. The dress is available in several color options, but I definitely prefer sand option (also check it out in navy and ivory.)
Deciding which shoes to pair with this outfit was easy. I shared about the Perfect Block Sandal in Gold Nappa from Sarah Flint frequently in 2020, so it just made sense to add the Perfect Block Sandal in Black Suede to my shoe collection. In the 30mm heel height you have just the perfect amount of added height (being 5’3″ any add height helps) and the sandals are never rub blisters on your feet from the very first moment you wear them. No need to break them in first.

If you’ve been following along here on The Avid Pen for very long (or have perused the homepage) you’ll recognize this hat. I picked it up at the sweetest little boutique in Hilton Head that I’m looking forward to visiting now that we’re on our way back for a visit. It’s from the San Diego Hat Company and I’ve linked a similar hat option later in the post. I’ve dubbed this hat the ‘Audrey’ hat given its similarities to the hat Audrey Hepburn wore in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’
I know I’ve said it before, but there’s just something so enjoyable about walking through different areas of Baxter Village (located just minutes from Charlotte). The Charleston-esque style homes, beautiful landscaping, and a nearby Starbucks make it the perfect location for taking an afternoon stroll on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, if you’re in the mood for a picnic there are several green spaces perfect for picnicking, so bring a picnic basket and (or pick up something to-go from one of the restaurants in Baxter Village or neighboring Kingsley) and find the perfect spot to enjoy your afternoon in Baxter even more.
