This past Saturday we were in the mood for an artsy day, which meant checking out a few of our favorite galleries (and one new one) eating some delicious food and finishing it all off with some gelato.
Our first art gallery of the day was the Hidell Brooks Gallery where we viewed pieces by Johan Hagaman and Jenny Nelson. You can check out the link for more about the exhibition here.
Johan Hagaman’s collection is titled ‘Shaping My Intagibles.’
Jenny Nelson’s collection is titled, ‘Sailing in Place.’
Now for a few of the other artist pieces currently on display…
After viewing our first gallery of the day, we were in the mood for some lunch and Luciano’s Ristorante Italiano was just two doors down.
After lunch we were off to our next gallery (Anne Neilson Gallery) which we’d never visited before. They represent artist around the world.
Something to note about this gallery is Anne’s dedication to giving back to the community. Every time she a painting is sold, some of the proceeds go to organizations such as Samaritan’s Feet which is located here in Charlotte, NC.
We finished off our art gallery ‘hop’ at the Shain Gallery which still continues to hold the top place in our hearts when it comes to art galleries in Charlotte.
You can meet this artist at a group show coming to the Shain Gallery on Friday, May 20th and you can pick up one of the books of Laura Fontaine’s art for the artist to sign.
We wrapped our day with some refreshing gelato and sorbet at Va da Vie Gelato.
