This past Saturday we needed a relaxation day. January proved to a pretty stressful month which isn’t so surprising given the fact that it’s the first month of a new year. One of our favorite ways to decompress is getting pedicures, or in today’s case my first ever manicure just in time for the upcoming Valentine’s holiday.
Our brunch destination for the day was the City Tavern. Their previous location was in the Rivergard shopping area, but having it literally just up the road from where we live made it even more convenient. Since they first opened we’ve been mostly getting take out either for days that I’m working from home, or if we don’t feel like cooking anything for dinner.
On Saturday we decided to dine it and were very surprised to find that for most of our meal we had the place to ourselves.
After a few errands in between (because when you have some time to kill you must take care of necessities.) We went to the newly renovated Starbucks in Baxter for our much needed Chai Tea Latte fix. I don’t know about you but Chai is one beverage that I can literally drink everyday of the week. Just so much cinnamon and soy deliciousness.
As I mentioned this was my first time ever getting a manicure because up until this point I’ve done all my nail care for my fingernails myself and I’d only put nail polish on them maybe once our twice before. However, with the upcoming holiday I wanted everything pink, so I decided to add a manicure to my list of treatments at Dolce Lusso.
I was only out of the spa for 2 seconds before I put the first scratch in my nails. Just ‘love’ how klutzy I can be sometimes! Oh, well. Here’s hoping the manicure can at least survive through the next few days.
