Summer is a season that deserves celebrating, and following the recent Independence Day holiday, we made the trip to my sister and brother-in-law’s home in Clinton, South Carolina to celebrate the season. We brought some delicious summery desserts along with us, and grabbed a delicious bubble tea before we started the two hour drive to Clinton.
Side note… I’ve said it before, but the bubble tea place that we found about two months ago has the best bubble tea ever (QC Tea Bar) and they’ve recently introduced their Summer drink menu which features both peach and mango milk teas. Right now I am OBSESSED with the peach milk tea with tapioca boba, and if this place was on my way to work I would be in serious trouble. It’s just that good.
For the celebration, my sister and I both wore these adorable (and extremely comfortable) Apron Dresses that we picked up from J Crew Factory. The dress comes in both the seersucker that I’m wearing, and the red, and feature a fun tie back detail and ‘cut out’ at the lower back. It’s the perfect dress to wear to your next Summer time gathering, and you can feel free to check it out in the Shop the Post section at the bottom of the post if you’d like to pick up a dress for yourself!
Before our meal we did a little home tour…
I love taking pictures of the details…
With our places all set, it was time to get the fries out of the air fryer, the turkey burgers off the grill and the cubed watermelon placed on the table.
Don’t the fries look delish?
Turkey burgers hot of the grill, with home grown tomatoes from my sister & brother-in-laws garden. Aren’t they gorgeous?
We brought along the desserts which include these dark chocolate chip walnut cookies from our favorite Levain Bakery recipe.
Not ashamed at all that this dessert was made from a box… we loved having the excuse to use the cute jars.
This apple dessert was seriously easy to make. We just wrapped apple pie filling in Pillsbury Croissant Dough that had been cut into squares and popped into one of our little square mini tart pans. Just before they went into the oven we gave them a little dusting of cinnamon and sugar.
See ya’ll later…
