So, on April 4th we had a big city art crawl in Charlotte’s Southend, and this past Friday we went for a more small town feel in Davidson, NC. Normally our trips to Davidson are centered around the Saturday Farmer’s Market, but this time we were going to enjoy some art. One of the most unique (and fun) parts about this art crawl was that most of the art was displayed in the shops on Main Street and not strictly in Galleries.
However, before we got started with the art crawl we needed to grab a bite to eat. Our dinner destination… Toast.
We walked along the busy street first which was crowded with shop owners, artists, families and even a dog or two.
I think I liked visiting Pretty Beauty Boutique the most. It smelled heavenly with floral and fruit scents, with lip balms, lotions and gerber daisy shaped soaps surrounded by works of art. What’s not to love?
From there we stopped in a few more shops, looked over some photography in front of the Grid Iron, which was jam packed, and back to the car so we could head up to the Wooden Vine and the few other shops hosting art.
Many of the artists that were on display are going to be exhibited at the Art on the Green taking place on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th from 10-5. So, if you want to check out some of these pieces and many more I would suggest you make the trip.
