This October we had a pumpkin decorating contest this October at the pediatric practice I work for. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to incorporate things from our fairy garden into the design for my pumpkin fairy house, and the door and windows that we have on the dogwood tree that ‘lives’ in the middle of the garden would add some fairy magic to the pumpkin.
Our little fairies, which included a reading fairy, an ode to the Reach Out and Read national children’s literacy program that our practice is a part of, brought in the pediatric side of things as well.
The acorns are the pumpkin, and some of the moss is from our backyard, and we used little pompoms in red, brown, and orange as our ‘mushrooms’. The little sparkling balls sprinkled throughout are our ‘fairy dust’ that our three little fairies use to help them fly.
