Linen is one of my favorite fabrics. It’s breathable, light, and perfect for summer. Since we’re heading towards autumn (or fall whatever you prefer) I wanted to style one last linen look before the season is officially over.
My look is a combination of old and new pieces, including my tumbled linen Florence shirt by Grayson. I can’t explain how much I love this shirt. It fits so well (their sizing options are different from the standard sizing so be sure to check out their sizing information before you order). In my usual size I’m a 0 or an XS or XXS depending, so I went with a 1 (which is the smallest size and the shirts go up to size 5.)
I wanted to show off the buttons on my sailor pants, so I just did a relax pop of the collar, and tied the shirt, leaving it untucked in the back.
I paired my shirt with a basic sleeveless cotton top from Loft, and a pair of linen sailor pants that I’d picked a few seasons back from Ann Taylor. For a similar cropped option with a linen look without actually being linen are these Easy Crop Sailor Pants in Multi Ivory, which as I’m sure you already guess I also have in my closet currently.
There are quite a few shoe options for these pants, but I definitely have to go with a bit of a heel since I’m petite and this particular pair of sailor pants ran long. I paired it with my Seychelles woven heels. Espadrilles, or your favorite pair of block heeled sandals also add a nice touch.
I paired my look with a woven backpack bag, and while I love it, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the brand since it took over a month to arrive (and I was beginning to think it wouldn’t arrive period along with a few other reasons I won’t get into) So if you’d like to go with a similar look, I’m loving this French Basket Bag on Etsy, this Straw Backpack also on Etsy, or the Changing Tides Straw Backpack from Billabong.
