Melanie Ostrove explores the Windy City in this edition of Flying High.
Favorite place in the city?
I have explored much of it but it would probably be Millennium Park.
What’s the first place you want to see once you touch down?
Downtown Chicago just being there in the midst of it all because I know there is always something to do.
Chicago or New York pizza? Cause the pizza from Lou Malnatis looks delicious.
Chicago pizza is great deep dish is awesome, but I am ever so loyal to NY pizza!
Have you ever seen a show at the Chicago Theater?
Haven’t seen a show at the Chicago theater yet but I anticipate going one day.
Have visited any museums yet, I’m waiting to pick a longer layover for that.
What is the best way to get around the city?
Probably the L train or the cab or bus probably the train and I use every form of transportation.
What is the one place you would suggest to someone visiting Chicago for the first time?
I would say visit Willis Tower which I have yet to do definitely go see Lake Shore Drive. There is a beachy area and you can see Lake Michigan. It looks like the Atlantic Ocean it’s so big.
It’s known as the Windy City. Does it live up to the title?
Yeah, Chicago is brisk and cold as Jack Frost in the winter time. It’s one of the things you have to sacrifice if you ever plan on living there.
The view of the water on Lake Shore Drive looks amazing. Would you consider it the one of the best view of the water in Chicago?
Yes but few of Lake Shore Drive in Chicago is one of the best views but I would imagine the view from Willis Tower would be better.
