During the past year, I’ve worked towards sharing a least one food related post per week, and this weeks post is for the girl who loves all things FOODIE! For this edition of ‘for the girl who loves all things…’ I thought I’d share a few of my favorite foodie gadgets that will get you more excited about being in the kitchen during the upcoming New Year. (It seems odd to that 2018 is so close, doesn’t it?)
While its always easier to get prepared fruits and vegetables, we really enjoy all of our prep work when it comes to cooking each evening. There is something so therapeutic about it, and having a quality set of knives is absolutely essential.
Another suggestion if you’re planning to gift this knife block set this Christmas, sign your FOODIE friend up for a Knife Skills Class. Not only do you learn how to hold the knife correctly, but you learn the skills you need to have you slicing, dicing and mincing your produce like a pro!
Mum received the Pasta attachment for our KitchenAid mixer last Christmas, and we’re looking forward to trying it out soon! This recipe for Tagliatelle all Bolognese from Eataly looks absolutely fabulous, plus we have the perfect recipe for making our pasta thanks to a Sur la Table class we took last year.
We’ve used our jars by Weck on numerous occasions. From our attempt at making Chia pudding (which we finally tweaked just the way we like it) to storing and serving the aioli’s that we like to make with fresh herbs from our garden during the spring and summer months.
Whether you are mixing a smoothing, a chilled soup or whatever suits your fancy, having a dependable blender in your kitchen is absolutely essential.
This hand blender gets a lot of use regardless of the season in our kitchen. It works beautifully for blending our white bean soup in the crockpot and also works well when we whip up a bowl of Hummus.
While regular waffles are fun, there’s just something special about mini waffles. Besides who doesn’t love cute food?
Kitchen Towels don’t have to boring and I love the shades that this towel set from Anthropologie comes in.
This Instant Pot is something that’s on my wishlist and we’ve seen it at a variety of places at various price points.
Our favorite use for our Le Creuset (we have the oval version) is creating Risotto. Our current favorite additions to our risotto are cubed ham, english peas and goat cheese. DELICIOUS!
Getting a KitchenAid Mixer was my first investment piece when I started baking more frequently. While I still mix certain things by hand, my KitchenAid remains as an essential piece of equipment in our kitchen.
Is there anything better than a nice bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich on a cold rainy (or snowy) day?
