Well, we’re officially in the countdown to Christmas. Is it just me or did the stores, Starbuck etc almost completely skip over Thanksgiving this year? It seemed like the moment November 1st arrived all of the Christmas decorations went up.
In this post I’m giving the month of November a final hurrah before we start getting ready for the Christmas season.
A stop at the Table Farmhouse Bakery is a must when you’re making a trip from Charlotte to Raleigh. Asheboro is the perfect half-way point, and we loved having a chance to try out the updated menu.
We always like to check out art galleries wherever we travel to, and while in Raleigh we had the chance to see the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
After our stay at the Umstead, we decided that every time we visit the Raleigh area, this will be the hotel we will be staying at. Everything about the hotel is so relaxing, whether you’re curling up on the bed in your hotel room or spending an afternoon walking around the hotel itself. I shared a few suggestions on what to do during your stay in this post.
If you want an out of this world afternoon tea experience, you absolutely must try the afternoon tea during your stay at The Umstead in Cary, North Carolina. They created the most amazing treats for me, and everything was 100% dairy free.
We had so much fun at the Home & Garden Tour at the Duke Mansion during the summer, that we’ve we been planning a trip back ever since. The weather was a stark contrast to what it was in the summer, and we had so much fun on our little self-guided tour of the gardens.
Not only did Herb Jackson’s solo exhibition open at the Hidell Brooks at the beginning of November, but I also had the amazing opportunity to interview the artist himself. It’s the final exhibition for the Hidell Brooks for 2018, so be sure to check it out before 12/20!
On our trip to Raleigh we had a chance to see Alice Ballard’s Pod Triangle display at the Umstead. I was so excited to share an inside look into Alice’s artist process and her inspiration here on the blog this month.
We have a self-care day about every five weeks, and we started off our November self-care day with brunch at the Gallery Restaurant located in the Ballantyne Hotel. Since our afternoon tea at the Ballantyne several months back, the hotel renovations have been completed. I can’t wait to visit the newly renovated lobby bar, The Ryal for some items off their new food & drink menu.
