October Beauty & Skincare Discoveries

Over the past few months I’ve tried out quite a few new skincare and beauty products, and today I’m sharing about a few of my favorite discoveries I’ve made during the month of October. Two of the brands were completely new discoveries (Donginbi and AJ Crimson) and another brand was one I’ve known about for awhile now, trèStiQue. I’ve already ordered two of their most popular colors!

The products have a variety of price points, but most of them an incredibly budget friendly while others are a bit of a splurge, so I hope my reviews will be able to help you make a more informed decision on whether you want to try them out or not.

trèStiQue 

The NYC-based makeup company, trèStiQue, recently launched it’s latest collection of products that are cruelty-free, fragrance free (which I love!), paraben-free and D5-Free. There are so many things to love about the newest collection including the cream-gel formula in the stick applicator that gives you a smooth mess free application.

I tried out 2 of the Prime & Color Lip Glaze’s in Georgia Peach and Rome Rouge and 2 of Matte Color & Shiny Balm Lip Crayons in Nantucket Nude & Chile Red Matte. My two favorite color options were the Rome Rouge (because I could finally achieve a red lip thanks to the mess free applicator!) and the Nantucket Nude for a more natural look.

Donginbi

Donginbi is a luxury Korean skincare brand that launched in the US (via Amazon) on September 28th. I recently had the opportunity to learn more about the brand, and the process that the red ginseng goes through before it’s turned into skincare products.

The company Donginbi was originally started back in 1899. They were one of the large producers of red ginseng, but it wasn’t until 2010 that they officially launched skincare products in South Korea for the first time.

One of the factors that makes red ginseng so beneficial for your skin are the antioxidant properties. After just 4 weeks of use your skins density will improve (as red ginseng promotes collagen production) and it both soothes and soothes your skin making it an idea product for those of us with sensitive skin, and even those with acne prone skin.

Each bottle of the 1899 Signature Oil comes in luxurious packaging and every bottle contains a piece of 6 year old ginseng in the bottle (so the product smells like the root itself.)

Office Politics by AJ Crimson

Here are a few things that I love most about the Office Politics collection. First there’s the idea behind the collection (it’s for all women/all shades, so there is the perfect option for any skin tone). Then there’s the creamy, lightweight formula it feels so luxurious on your lips. So many lip-glosses can be sticky which makes uncomfortable and frustrating to wear (hair stuck on your lips right when you’re walking into the office is not the best way to start your day!). The easy applicator is another reason to love these lip-glosses, with the doe foot design I find that products go on easier, been less mess and less stress.
