I discovered just how much I love ballet in December of last year when I attended my first ballet (The Nutcracker) at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in uptown Charlotte. It was an amazing experience and ever since that time I’d been looking for another ballet to attend.
It didn’t take long.
As soon as I found out the Charlotte Ballet would be performing Peter Pan @ the Knight Theater, I knew I had to attend. It wasn’t really a hard choice to make. It’s Peter Pan and it’s ballet. What’s not to like?
When we arrived in uptown we found the street in front of our venues for the evening had been blocked off due some early St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. What can I say, Charlotteans love St. Patricks Day.
We took a turn around the park (The Green) next to our dining venue for the evening (Bernardin’s.) I was able to snap a few photos, but it was very windy so I plan to go back when the weather is a bit more hospitable.
When we made it to Bernardin’s we found we had the place to ourselves, for awhile at least. I have to say I like the feeling of having an entire restaurant to yourself. It’s a very relaxing experience.
Time to head across the street to the Knight Theater! We got there kind of early, so we headed upstairs to wait by the door we needed for our seats. At 6:30p the doors opened and we were shown to our seats. It was our first time attending a show at the Knight Theater and I really like the feel the place has. Not too big, not to small.
The show was amazing and I have to say that Peter Pan & Tinkerbell were my favorite’s in this production.
I can’t wait to see another production by the Charlotte Ballet!
