In the week leading up to New Years, we headed to Uptown Charlotte for a bite of lunch at Bernardin’s and the final performance of The Nutcracker by the Charlotte Ballet. When putting together my outfit for the event, I wanted to go with a look that an an element of comfort (in the form of a chunky sweater) but would also be appropriate for a New Year’s Eve Party.
The sweater… it’s no secret that I love a good sweater, whether it’s a cardi in the spring/summer or a chunky knit during the fall and winter. For my holiday look this year I decided to go with a chunky sweater and the Petite Bobble Stitch Sweater (in Whisper White) fit the look I was hoping for. Now if you’d rather not go with a chunky knit, a fitted sweater would also work very well for this look. I have a grey fitted sweater with pearls that I picked up last year that would also work for a fun party look.
The skirt… I have always wanted a tulle skirt, there’s just something so ultra feminine about them, and wearing this skirt Petite Clip Dot Pleated Skirt (in Dim Rose) for the first time to a ballet (The Nutcracker to be specific) was a match made in heaven. The skirt itself isn’t tulle, as I’m sure you can tell, but it’s more practical and you’ll get much more wear out if it!
The jewelry… Since I went with a chunky sweater, I decided to go the same route with my jewelry. This Pearlized Torsade Necklace and the Floral Earring Set (in Precious Pink) couldn’t have been a more perfect choice to bring the whole look together.
The shoes… I decided to pair these Jeweled Flats that I’ve shared once before, but I would also pair the look with heels if like me, you need a little added height from time to time.
