Regardless of where you’re staying in Charleston, a visit to the Hotel Bennett is a must. Located on King Street, one of the most recognizable streets for both locals and frequent visitors of the Holy City, and directly across from Marion Square, the Hotel Bennett is a combination of both southern hospitality and European elegance.
Prior to venturing through the hotel lobby to La Patisserie to pick up lunch and pastries, we took a moment to walk through Marion Square before the first of several rain showers that would come through that day.

While these espadrilles that I’ve owned for years were perfect for the summery plaid Peyton dress by GMG Collection, I will admit they were probably not the best idea for a hot and humid day walking around Charleston. The Peyton dress was an absolute dream though. So comfortable, the fabric the perfect color for both the spring and summer seasons. I paired it with one of the sweaters that I picked up from Gal Meets Glam last year for my sisters baby shower, and it was the perfect added layer when we were inside the deliciously cool Hotel Bennett.
La Patisserie is the only place in Charleston where you can get the famous Camellia’s cake, our number #1 reason for visiting the Hotel Bennett during our recent trip to Charleston. I’ve been an avid follower of both the Hotel Bennett’s Instagram page as well as La Patisserie’s, and I’ve been looking forward to the pink mirror glaze cake topped with mini macaroons for months!
In addition to being a full service coffee bar, and home to the most delicious pastries by French Pastry Chef Rémy Fünfrock, La Patisserie also offers breakfast sandwiches and quiche.
In addition to La Patisserie (where you can dine at social distant tables or take your goodies to go) the Hotel Bennett is also home to three other restaurants including Camellia’s, Fiat Lux and Gabrielle.
Our lunch and pastries tucked safely away, we dashed through Marion Square with the baby stroller in tow our parking garage that was just across the street. (For those of you who have visited Charleston, finding parking can be a real challenge, and in the heat a parking garage when you’re luck enough to find one is the best option!

We are definitely looking forward to staying at the Hotel Bennett in future and it’s listed as one of my suggested places to stay while in the Holy City in an upcoming post about our favorite things to do, eat and places to stay.
