The Ballantyne location of the Sunflour Baking Co. is the newest location of the Charlotte based franchise (along with their Harrisburg location) and we’ve been looking forward to checking it out since it first opened. This past Saturday we popped in for the first time and I was beyond excited to see that they had so many vegan options available. I went from one end of the display case to the other snapping pictures of everything that I wanted, so I wouldn’t ‘forget’ any of the items I wanted to try out by the time I got the register.
One thing I liked about this location (besides all of the goodies) was the spacious design was more open than the Dilworth location. Don’t get me wrong I do like the charm of the Dilworth location of Sunflour but if you hit it at the lunch rush you can feel a bit like everyone else is sitting on top of you.
Since my grandfather had lunch with me back in December at the Dilworth location, and he’d enjoyed the sandwich and cheddar biscuit he’d picked up while there, he decided he wanted to go to the Ballantyne location for our Wednesday lunch meet up. (And I wasn’t complaining… another chance to pick up more goodies!)
I tried out the TAB during our first visit, and since I enjoy trying out different Egg Salads, I decided to give their erred Egg Salad with Lettuce and Roasted Tomato a try. My grandfather went with his favorite standard choice (the Club) and we picked up a couple sandwiches for him to take back to my mom and grandmother. (Along with a Vegan Whole Wheat Raspberry Muffin or two!)
No matter what part of the Charlotte area you call home, I definitely recommend that you check out the Sunflour Bakery. There are so many delicious things to try and it’s the perfect place to meet up with your bestie, family members or even for a workday lunch with co-workers!
