You spend 8-9 hours 5 days a week in you cubicle/office. You deserve to be surrounded by more than just four plain walls. I started working a full-time job at a television network when I was right out of high school. At the time I wasn’t really sure of my personal style (either fashion or decor wise) but what 18 year old is?
Since that time I’ve gone from cubicle to cubicle and a few years ago I moved over to the corporate offices and had a cubicle with both a window and a sliding door, something that was unheard of for the majority of my time working at the network.
I started adding bits of decor here and there, including four rather realistic flower boxes of french lavender (To this day people still ask me if they are real) which sit on top of my cubicle cabinets.
Recently I decided to give the artwork in my cubicle a little refresh. Around that time I saw a beautiful black and white photograph of a girl looking out a window at the Arc de Triomphe on one of the accounts I follow in Instagram. Since I love to research I immediately popped over to google where I found the poster Girl in Window available on Desenio website.
Since I wanted to replace two of the pieces that I currently had in my office, I decided to look at the ballerina posters they had available and settled on the Ballerina Dancer No. 1 piece which worked well with the aesthetic I was looking for.
Now for the 3 reasons why you should decorate your work office…
#1
Just because you’re there to work, doesn’t mean your office needs to be boring.
#2
A nice looking office can boost moral and help you be more creative.
#3
It will inspire your coworkers to add some personal touches to their own offices.
In addition to artwork, it’s always nice to add things like lamps for addition light on especially cloudy days, and other items that make the office more you… which gives you the a very valid reason for a trip to your local Home Goods or Pier 1!
