I have been reading about the benefits of switching from cotton pillow cases to silk pillow cases for the better part of a year and last month I finally decided to order myself one pillow case to try out before adding a second pillowcase. There are quite a few silk pillowcase options to choose from. There is Slip that most of you have probably heard about, to the long list of possibilities on Amazon. Since I was looking for a color that would blend with my pink and white bedding, I decided on these pillow cases from Spasilk in Blush. Which are currently a steal in this color at $19.99. (Why couldn’t they have been this price when I ordered them?!)
Here are some of the benefits you’ll see once you make the switch to silk pillow cases.
Minimizes hair breakage
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been having this issue more and more in the past few years. I tend to toss and turn at night (see next benefit) so this contributed to part of the issue. Also since I wash my hair daily it can tend to dry my hair out. In the past month I’ve already noticed a change in the amount of breakage.
Reduces bedhead
Do wake up in the morning with hair like a certain Brit (Russel Brand). Well using silk pillowcases definitely reduce the case of bedhead in the morning. So if you’re a toss and turner (like I completely admitted to in the point above) silk pillow cases are for you.
Protects and helps skin maintain moisture
If you have a evening skincare routine, you don’t want it to end up all over your pillow. Besides following the rule of applying your skincare products at least 30 minutes before going to bed, you’ll find that your skin still feels just as moisturized in the morning after you’ve made the switch!
Keeps you cooler
Cotton pillowcases can sometimes make you wake up with a sweaty head in the morning, and for those of us who wash our hair in the evening vs the morning (for lack of time) your silk pillow case will make a noticeable difference for you.
PS. This has not been a sponsored post. I just love using my new silk pillowcases!
