During my nieces last visit to us, they couldn’t have been more excited about the Sunday afternoon ‘Tea Party’. It was a belated Mother’s Day gift to my mom from my sister, and the girls were almost too excited to get on their tea party dresses.
We arrived at The Ballantyne Hotel fashionably early, giving the littles time to get out some of their energy before we were shown to our table in the hotels lobby/bar area. It’s been quite some time since we last had afternoon tea at the Ballantyne, and we loved being back.
While I enjoyed Chamomile Tea with my scones, there is a special hibiscus Princess Tea available for littles as another caffeine free option. The staff will put ice cubes in the tea pot, but I definitely recommend requesting an additional cup of ice, just in case your little finds the tea still a little ‘too hot’ for their liking.
I loved all of the alliums featured in the floral centerpieces around the lobby and tea area.
They always have such delicious pastries and I loved all of the chocolate themed desserts which included chocolate tarts and chocolate madeleines just to name a few. The pistachio creme toped choux were another delicious option.
The featured tea sandwiches were turkey and pesto, strawberry and cream cheese, cucumber sandwiches toped with radish, and tuna fish on croissant.
So much has changed in the area surrounding the hotel following the sale of the extensive golf course which is being turned into a gathering/dining spot called ‘The Bowl’. With so many things coming throughout the rest of the year, and into the new year, I’m sure you’ll see what we get up to as we explore the area both here on the blog and on the ‘gram.
