I’m so excited that we’ve finally gotten back to our ‘mission’ to discover some of the best brunch spots in Charlotte. This past weekend we ventured to Uptown Charlotte (or Downtown if you’re not a local) to check out Angeline’s. This restaurant is more than just a brunch destination, you can also enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Helmed by Chef Executive Chef Robert Hoffman, Angeline’s offers Northern Italian cuisine with a modern twist.
For our visit the weather had finally turned cooler (we’re talking actual Fall temperatures instead of the 80-90’s that we’ve been experiencing all summer along with a more than health does of humidity) so we opted to eat inside. The outside eating area does look inviting though, doesn’t it?
Interesting match collection…

I’d already decided exactly what I wanted to order before we arrived because when there is any version of Eggs Benedict on the menu I simply must give it a try! The Eggs Benedettina features grilled ciabatta, prosciutto di parma, shaved parm, confit tomato, poached eggs, and basil pesto hollandaise.
I love that the dish featured both prosciutto (which I prefer over canadian bacon) and ciabatta versus an english muffin. The eggs were perfectly poached and unlike some places where the egg can taste too much like vinegar there was only the slightest hint in this particular dish.
Mom decided to go with the Frittata which features asparagus, baby squash and robiola cheese with a side of potatoes. If this combination isn’t to your liking, there is another frittata option if you’re visiting for breakfast on a weekday that features mushrooms, kale, pecorino, arrabiatta and rosemary potatoes.
If you’re looking to enjoy several dishes ‘For the Table‘ I was intrigued by both the Avocado Toast and the Prosciutto & Melon. You can view all of the delicious menu options here.
One of the things I loved about both Angeline’s and one of the other restaurants that I’ve recently reviewed, are the unique private dining rooms. I’m definitely looking forward to having an event where I can book one of these rooms someday.
Note: While we came in through Angeline’s West 3rd Street entrance, you can also access the restaurant through the entrance in the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel.
Stay tuned and be sure to follow along via email so you won’t miss where we visit next!
