Superica has brought Tex-Mex to Charlotte’s Southend, with locations in Houston and Atlanta, the Southend location is just the first in the Charlotte area. The second location is coming to the Strawberry Hill near Sardis Road. We first saw the sign for Superica during our visit to Jeni’s Ice Cream (located just around the corner) early in the summer.
Since I love brunch, I decided to take my grandfather there for one of their weekend brunches (served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-3) for our first experience. As far as parking we lucked out with street parking this time around, but you also have the option of the $5 parking lot directly across from the building.
Outfit Details: Coat (Tulle) similar here | Boots (Sole Society) old, similar here | Bag (Henri Bendel) here | Jeans (American Eagle) here | Beret (Top Shop) here | Sunnies (Anthropologie) here.
Since we wanted a booth, we opted for the second dining area with a view of the kitchen and a large projector screen where the were playing How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a film that I watched for the first time this year. I usually stick to my main stays when it comes to holiday films (The Holiday, Elf, The Family Stone, and Santa Clause 1-3) but this year I went a bit outside the box.
With factory buildings there area definitely a lot of large windows which definitely adds a open, airy feel to the dining experience.
While I don’t eat beef 99.9% of the year, I do have one ‘cheat’ day a year where I will have steak, so I opted for the Steak & Eggs. The steak will be sizzling when brought to your table, and if you’re like me you’ll immediately whip out your phone and make a video…
My grandfather who was joining me for my first Superica experience ordered a stack of their Buttermilk Pancakes. This photo doesn’t even capture how massive these pancakes actually are (they’re available in a stack of 2 or 3) and there’s no doubt in my mind that no matter how hearty your appetite you’ll be asking for a to-go container at the end of the meal.
