For our little mini break this Summer, we headed up to Asheville, North Carolina. It’s always nice to escape the heat and humidity for a little while and the mountains are an excellent place to go.
The last time we’d been to the Inn at Biltmore, it was a surprisingly cold May back in 2014, but we’d often visited the Biltmore Estate itself after we relocated to the Carolina’s while my sister and I were in elementary school. Since then so much has changed around the Biltmore Estate, but from the moment we stepped into the inn everything felt familiar again.
One of the things I definitely recommend during your stay that we did not do on this trip, is getting a pedicure at the Spa. Located on the third floor overlooking the lobby, the spa is Moroccan in design making you feel like you are not only in another place, but another country as well. The rose pedicure that we had on our first trip was amazing, and you can relax before hand while happily munching away on snacks and flavored water or teas in the plush relaxing area. You can also access the heated pool and hot top from the third floor area which is an excellent place to unwind at the end of a long day around the estate.
If you arrive at the inn around lunchtime, the first place you should go to while your car is being whisked away by the complimentary valet, and you’re waiting for your room to be prepared, is the Library Lounge.
Guests can enjoy views of Antler Village and the Blue Ridge Mountains from the floor to ceiling windows in the dining room, or on especially beautiful days, you’ll definitely want to get a set out on the veranda.
They have a delicious selection of lunch items and desserts, but we both knew exactly what we wanted before we even took our seats. Nothing wrong with knowing what you like, right?
Our room was located on the lobby level of the hotel, allowing us to have our own patio for enjoying the outdoors from the comfort of our room, which is definitely a must when staying at the Inn at Biltmore. Plus we were just steps away from the two shops in the Inn which have snacks and items that you might have forgotten to bring on your trip, along with a clothing shop for those last minute dinner plans.
One thing that I always look forward to about the hotels we stay at (because that’s one of the big draws for us, we go for the hotel and the location is just an extra bonus) is getting wrapped up in the fluffy hotel robes (which the Inn on Biltmore has) curling up in a cozy bed and having a little time to just relax and enjoy the room.
Since the rest of our party would be meeting up with us in Biltmore Village, we had just enough time to settle our things in our room, and for me to check out our patio before we headed back to our waiting car.
During your stay at the Inn on Biltmore Estate, be sure to check out the events around the Inn itself when you’re given the next days itinerary at turn down. They often offer Yoga on the large patio area in the photo above, and it’s the perfect way to get your day headed in the right direction.
I’ve been nothing but impressed with the Inn on Biltmore Estate during both of our stays, and would recommend it as THE place to stay if you’re planning on seeing the Biltmore while in Asheville.
