In the heat of summer, reaching for a breezy summer dress, a pair of sandals, and a hat is my constant go-to whether I’m staying in town or heading out for a few days away. Floral dresses are some of my favorites and this navy floral dress from Mango is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I love how they’ve given it both feminine details at the color and sleeves while adding more modern touches with the gathered waist and side vents in the skirt that add to the breathability factor as well as giving your shoes their own chance to shine.
This outfit was the perfect choice for a vacation in Highlands, NC. While the temperatures were at least twenty degrees cooler than back home, we had daily showers that left a bit of humidity hanging in the cooler air.
I paired the dress with my new favorite summer sandal, The Wrap Sandal from Margaux that I ordered just in time for our getaway. They were so comfortable right out of the box and even after walking around Main Street for a few hours before our lunch reservations.
I brought along my favorite fedora with a navy band from LOFT, and simple gold jewelry details (before finding a new pair of earrings and accent bracelet from Spartina 449 that were MADE for this outfit.)

While we were waiting for the shops to open, we happened to see that they were having a vintage car show on one side of the street. I’ve always had an obsession with vintage Austin Healeys and Aston Martins, so having the opportunity to get a photo alongside this beautiful car was the highlight of my morning.
For those of you who follow Krystal Bick of This Time Tomorrow, I’ve always dreamed of creating a Vogue-worthy photoshoot alongside a vintage car, so I’ve already started looking into the possibility of renting a vintage car for the day.
