If you’re looking for a little white dress that will take you from brunch to the beach, this dress from Mint Julep is the dress that will take you there. While I don’t necessarily recommend wearing pearls to the beach, I quite literally went from an intimate Sunday brunch with family to the beach which just happened to be right across the street. You can easily dress the lookup (while keeping it beach-inspired) by adding a pair of woven wedges for brunch and switching them out for gold flip-flops before heading out to the beach. I found these particular flip-flops at J.Crew Factory and they are very comfortable for walking along the beach before you inevitably remove them to run into the ocean!
As I’m sure you can see, this dress can also double as a cover-up, has a scoped back with a tie at the neckline, and the sweetest puffed sleeves which give it an added touch of elegance. It’s also completely lined which is always a plus for a white dress.
As far as accessories, I love pairing a chunky pearl necklace with my white dresses. I found this one at LOFT a few years back, but this one from J.Crew is very similar and reasonably priced. I went with drop pearl earrings and the simple pearl bracelet (only available in-store) that I’d picked up at Spartina 449 upon our arrival in Hilton Head. My sunnies are from Anthropologie, and while no longer available, they have several options with the cat-eye look.
White Baby Doll Dress (Mint Julep, sold out similar here and here) // Chunky Pearl Necklace // Taner Bracelet (Gorjana) // Cat-Eye Sunglasses (Anthropologie) // Gold Flip Flops (J Crew Factory)
I wasn’t quite prepared for how cold the ocean was, but after walking along the beach, toes in the wet sand, water washing over my feet with each new wave it didn’t take long to get used to it. Every time we have the opportunity to be close enough to the ocean to walk along the beach I never take it for granted. There’s just something so calming about letting the water rush over you, your feet sinking into the sand with each new wave, and just letting everything else fade away. So as much as I love the city, the ocean and the beach will always have my heart.
