“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Flowy fabrics, feminine details, and beautiful floral prints have definitely been an ongoing theme this season. The romantic style of dressing has been one of my favorite trends, and this dress had so many details that made it uniquely beautiful, from the square neckline to the simple, gathered sleeves. It was made for exploring gardens, enjoying an impromptu picnic, or exploring the woodland surroundings during our recent stay in Highlands, North Carolina.
I was immediately drawn to this nearly sold-out wildflower dress from H&M, and at just under $60 it’s a budget-friendly find, and styling it was effortless once I decided on a theme… simple woven details.
This dress has a very relaxed silhouette, so I would recommend getting it in your recommended size. I had mine taken in to create a more defined waistline and paired it with a woven belt from Banana Republic (sold out, similar), which I previously paired with another summer dress in the recent post, The Golden Girl. My raffia heel slides from Seychelles are currently available in a few sizes from Soft Surroundings. I also like these Fringe Heeled Slide Sandals from Anthropologie that feature a slightly lower heel. The mother of pearl earrings from LOFT are from a few years ago, but I love the idea of adding gold details, like with these Crescent Hoops or Oval Hoop earrings from Anthropologie.
