When it comes to blogging and creating an editorial calendar, keeping things organized is key. While everyone has a favorite app or system on how they like to do things, I have multiple ways of keeping track of my editorial calendar. In this post I’m sharing three of my favorite ways to keep things organized. (Plus, all of them are free with the exception of the last one…)
Notes App
The Notes app is my ultimate go-to. I create everything from editorial calendar to my interview questions and even my grocery lists in this app. I love being able to add bullet points for events, and adding a little check box by each upcoming post that I can check off once the post has gone live. Plus checking off that ‘box’ is almost as satisfying as clicking publish on a blog post.
Spreadsheet
Although I like to plan out my editorial content in advance, I never know when plans will change or an interview post needs to be moved to a later date. Artists lives are full of deadlines, but when it comes to an amazing interview opportunity it’s always worth the wait! With a spreadsheet I can switch things around, and it’s also easy to color code my posts by category. I also list upcoming events such as art exhibitions and new restaurants that are opening up soon.
Keeping a physical agenda
While I’ve keeping a bullet journal this year to keep track of my blog, Instagram posts, and exciting milestones I’ve achieved. I couldn’t be more excited to use this gorgeous new Mila Planner + Pen set I picked up from Anthropologie. Turns out I need a little more of a structured look. It’s the perfect size and won’t take up to much on your desk or in your bag as you go around to various appointments/interviews etc. I love the soft pink cover with gold lettering, and the interior is grey and white. I have a serious thing for grey… perhaps someday my blog layout will be pink and grey. Thoughts?
This particular agenda comes with a pen, but I also picked up this set of Maude Pens as well. I’m very particular about the pens that I like to use, and not only are these pens super cute, but they dry really fast so you don’t have to worry about annoying smudges.
