Earlier this month Maman NYC (founded by Elisa Marshal) shared the most beautiful cake and I knew we needed to recreate it for our early Easter celebration. You’ll remember from my birthday celebration we had Whole Foods create a ‘naked’ version of their Chantilly Cream Cake, and we knew that it would be the perfect cake to create our version of Maman’s bunny cake.
From the moment I saw the Maman cake, I knew that the Annie’s homegrown Bunny Grahams would be the perfect option for the circle of bunnies on the top of the cake, and while they have several flavor options including Neapolitan (which smells just like the ice cream), Honey and Chocolate to name a few, we opted for the Annie’s Homegrown Chocolate Chip Bunny Grahams.
If you have littles attending your event I definitely recommend picking up a few flavors and placing them in decorative bowls. Cecileia opted to go right for the bunnies on the cake!
You can use edible flowers to decorate your cake if you’re looking for brighter flower. We were originally looking for little white flowers (similar to the chamomile flowers used on the Maman cake) but we opted for these tiny pink blooms that were part of one of the fresh flower bouquets. They provided a beautiful touch of color to our cake, don’t you think?
