Sometimes the best soirees are the ones that come together quickly. During my sister’s recent visit with my two nieces, we knew that we wanted to keep things both simple (because who wouldn’t rather have more snuggle time?) and have toddler-friendly options on the menu.
Our sandwiches were simple ham and cheese and we cut paper bags and ribbon to give them a more festive touch. Since my sister prefers to have olive oil versus mayo on her sandwich we used a sprig of rosemary versus the thyme sprigs we used for the other sandwiches. If you have several guests with different dietary needs, I really like the idea of using sprigs of different herbs to help keep track of which sandwich goes to a particular guest.
Our placemats and leaf decor are from one of our favorite brands, Hester and Cook. Since we’re surrounded by trees, birds, and all things nature, I just loved the details on these placemats. They are the perfect addition to any fall or Thanksgiving table.

While you can easily brew your own iced tea in advance. We’ve really been enjoyed the Gold Peak Slightly Sweet Tea. It’s not overwhelming sweet and it’s the only bottled tea that we’ve found that has tasted just as good as anything we’ve made at home.
Since we had my almost 2 year old niece, Cecileia joining us, we kept our side dishes kid friendly. Note the multi-colored Goldfish crackers and pretzels and delicious mandarin oranges and jam grapes.
