During our stay at the Cottages at Charleston Harbor we had access to both our little stretch of sand where we would dip our toes in the warm ocean water rolling in at high tide each evening, and to the clubhouse pool on the property.
After our rainy morning in Charleston, we headed out of the cottage under much sunnier conditions that afternoon with one thing in mind, spending a little time at the pool.
The clubhouse was a very short distance from our cottage (as was the lagoon where there were signs not to feed the alligators) making us feel a lot safer knowing that we had a harbor view room with my seven month old niece in tow. Although I have to say that our Wifi password made a lot more sense after reading the sign posted at the lagoon!
There were plenty of shady tables beside the pool for relaxing and applying liberal amounts of sunscreen before taking a dip in the pool. Since we arrived at the pool just after lunch, we located a nice spot under one of the umbrellas to take a few minutes to unwind before changing into our swimsuits and taking a dip in the pool.
This Cream Packable Wide Bow Sunhat from Tuckernuck has to be one of my favorite purchases this summer, and after missing out on it once I snapped it up as soon as they restocked. The cream ribbon option truly is the best if you’re looking for a hat that is versatile enough to wear with all your summer dresses, and I love the extra touch of chic it added to the Peyton Dress from the Gal Meets Glam Collection that I purchased shortly before the online shop closed. (Not to mention a sunhat is essential for those of us who both freckle and burn when we’re in the sun for too long.)
Cream Packable Wide Bow Sunhat (Tuckernuck) // Navy Polka-Dot Swimsuit (SOLD OUT) // beach Towel (Spartina 449)
This polka-dot swimsuit is one that I’ve had for several seasons, and is a comfortable option both for sitting poolside curled up with a good book and your favorite sunhat, or spending a relaxing afternoon in the warm water of the pool. The pool at the Cottages at Charleston Harbor was the perfect temperature so we didn’t have to worry about adjusting to cold water. Cecileia is definitely quite the water baby and enjoyed splashing in the pool for the afternoon.
